If they are currently offering a coupon that reads something like: “rip this out and bring it to our store and get that” just change the offer to: “text keyword to 90210, bring in your phone and get that. Can they run a raffle? Do they have a rewards list? Text Marketing is "value exchange, permission-based marketing" you have to make them an offer and deliver instant gratification. You need an offer, once you have it you want it to stick out: IE: Text: KEYWORD to: 90210 Also it is important to remember that the reason they opt-in in the first place is how the business owner should be communicating with them. With that said, a list of mobile phone numbers is by far the easiest, cheapest, and most effective list you can build for your business… make sure your customer knows that. The more they promote their keyword the bigger their list will grow. The bigger the list, the more business on demand they can drive. From your previous brainstorming session you should have plenty of places to promote their Keyword@90210 Remember, small business owners are very busy so keep it simple and easy for them to implement. Get their commitment to promote his or her keyword. This is where you will both identify where their resources and existing assets are. This will help you incorporate a new mobile campaign and even get them an immediate return on their investment. A few rules of thumb: you can add their keyword@90210 in place of, or addition to their website or phone number. Where are they displayed now? You can add 90210 in place of or in addition to those old school "calls-to action." Now you should have a clear plan of how this customer will use mobile media. Remember you can't eat an elephant in one bite so show your customer small success and return and they will be happy to see progress. The power of delivering the right message, at the right time, to the right person. This is exactly where the value is. This is what will fill a restaurant, remind people not to miss an event, flood a retail store, and even save lives. Help your iZigg customer to plan out their message delivery and if possible schedule a few out for future dates. You can even help them set up templates or raffles. You should be able to have them all set up in an hour and you must give them a simple and clear action plan. The only time mobile media does not work is when it is not worked properly. Be sure you paint them a clear picture of the benefits they will receive so they take the necessary actions. Give them the iZigg resources and go over the best practices with them.
How to follow up with active retail clients
You want to show them progress and return on their investment so it is important you check in and evaluate their campaign. What worked and why? What didn’t, and why? What can you improve the results? Rarely do you hit a home run first time at bat, but if your customer is getting opt ins then you are on the right road. Run a report and see where they had results, observe their advertising and see if you can spot places they could get more opt-ins. Although they should call you for support, you want to make sure that they know all technical issues should go through support@izigg.com
